Behind the scenesHow to choose a good massage therapist: the questions before your first session
A good massage depends more on the hands doing it than on the name on the menu. Here are the questions worth asking yourself before you book with a massage therapist - and how we answer them.
Do they ask what is bothering you?
A good massage therapist does not start straight away. With us every session begins with a short conversation: where the tension is, how long it has been there, whether there is an area to avoid and whether a doctor has told you anything. That decides where the focus will be.
Do they change the pressure at your word?
The pressure changes at your word at any moment. You do not have to put up with pain for it to "work". If something is not comfortable, you say so and it stops.
Can you choose a specific person?
Yes. Every therapist has a profile on the therapists page - with their story, strengths and the languages they speak - and you can book directly with them.
A woman or a man?
Our team is currently all women. More on that in Massage for women.
In which language?
All our massage therapists speak Bulgarian and English. Which other languages each one speaks is listed in their profile.
Is the price clear?
The price and the length should be clear before you come. All our prices are in one place - Massage prices in Sofia.
Which massage to choose
If you do not know where to start - the 60 minute Mieli Massage. A personalised massage that works on the areas with the most tension. If you cannot decide between two, see Which massage is right for you.
When to see a doctor first
Sharp pain after an injury, numbness in an arm or a leg, swelling that does not go down or appears suddenly, the first trimester of pregnancy. Ask your doctor first, then book a massage.
Frequently asked questions
How do I know a massage therapist is good?
They ask before they start and they adapt to you during the massage. Other people's reviews help too - Mieli has reviews on Google and TripAdvisor.
Can I book with a specific massage therapist?
Yes. The therapists' profiles are on the therapists page, and you book with a specific person.
Can I change the pressure during the massage?
Yes, at any moment. You say so and the therapist changes it.
How much does a massage cost?
The Mieli Massage is €60 for 60 minutes and €80 for 90 minutes. All massages and treatments range from €45 to €105.
